Stockport Interchange Cycle Ramp

Stockport, Greater Manchester

Representative experience

Carl Bebbington contributed to the structural engineering delivery of the signature cycle ramp forming part of the Stockport Interchange regeneration while employed at Renaissance Associates.

Designed to provide an accessible connection between the transport interchange, Viaduct Park and the surrounding town centre, the spiral ramp combines architectural steelwork with high-quality public realm to create an attractive and inclusive route for cyclists and pedestrians.

The structure required careful coordination between permanent works, landscape design and surrounding infrastructure while maintaining accessibility standards and delivering a robust long-term public asset.

Carl was involved during detailed design coordination and construction, assisting with the successful delivery of one of the defining elements of the wider regeneration scheme.
