Information collected
Information you provide through the enquiry form: your name, company or organisation, email address, telephone number, project name, project location, project type and stage, preferred contact method, the description of the works, any optional project details you choose to add, and any files you attach.
Information you provide by email or telephone in the course of an enquiry or an engineering appointment.
Technical information generated automatically when the website is served, such as the request data needed to deliver pages securely.
Project Navigator
The Project Navigator is a guided questionnaire that produces an indicative assessment of your project. Your answers are held only in your own browser while you work through it and are not stored by the studio unless you choose to submit them. If you simply view, print or download the assessment, no record is created and no information reaches the studio.
If you complete the optional “Send this assessment to Bebbington Engineering Studio” form, the following is collected: your name, email address, telephone number, company or organisation if given, preferred contact method, best time to contact if given, any additional comments, your full question-and-answer summary, the indicative complexity and the suggested services and information produced by the tool, the consent statements you ticked, the version of this notice in force, and a unique enquiry reference.
On submission the assessment is emailed to the studio and stored as an enquiry record in the studio’s managed database. A confirmation copy is emailed to the address you give. The lawful basis is your consent, together with steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract.
Where you have asked the studio to review the assessment, BES may contact you about that specific project by your preferred method, and by telephone where you have separately agreed to a telephone follow-up. All contact is made manually by the studio; the site does not place automated calls or send automated follow-up messages. An internal reminder is set seven days after submission purely as a prompt for the studio.
Submitted Navigator information is not used for unrelated marketing. The marketing checkbox is separate, optional, never pre-ticked, and is not a condition of receiving the assessment or submitting an enquiry. You may withdraw either consent at any time by emailing the studio, quoting your enquiry reference, and the studio will stop contacting you and delete the record on request.
The version of this notice recorded against submissions made under it is 2026-08.
Structural Inspection Assistant
The Structural Inspection Assistant is a guided preparation tool that produces a checklist of information, photographs and observations that may assist before a structural inspection. Your answers are held only in your own browser while you work through it and are not stored by the studio unless you choose to submit them. Viewing, printing or saving the checklist creates no record and sends nothing to the studio.
If you complete the optional “Send this to Bebbington Engineering Studio” form, the following is collected: your name, email address, telephone number, company or organisation if given, preferred contact method, best time to contact if given, any additional comments, your full question-and-answer summary, the checklist generated for you, any files you upload, the consent statements you ticked, the version of this notice in force, and a unique enquiry reference beginning “SI-”.
Uploaded photographs and documents are stored in private storage that is not publicly accessible. Links included in the studio’s notification email are time-limited and expire after seven days. Please do not upload information that is not relevant to the inspection, and avoid including images of identifiable people where this can be avoided.
On submission the request is emailed to the studio and stored as an enquiry record in the studio’s managed database, and a confirmation copy is emailed to the address you give. The lawful basis is your consent, together with steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract. Where you have separately agreed to a telephone follow-up, an internal reminder is set seven days after submission purely as a prompt for the studio; all contact is made manually and no automated calls or follow-up messages are sent.
You may withdraw consent at any time by emailing the studio and quoting your enquiry reference, and the studio will stop contacting you and delete the record, including any uploaded files, on request.
Purposes of processing
To respond to your enquiry and to discuss the structural engineering advice you require.
To prepare proposals and, where appointed, to deliver structural engineering services.
To keep records of professional advice given, and to operate and secure this website.
Lawful bases
Consent, where you submit the enquiry form and tick the consent statement. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting the studio.
Steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, and performance of a contract where the studio is appointed.
Legitimate interests in maintaining professional records and in keeping the website secure.
Legal obligation, where records must be retained to comply with law or professional requirements.
Contact enquiries and uploaded files
Enquiry details and any attached files are stored in a private location that is not accessible through a public URL. The studio accesses attachments through short-lived, private links. Please do not upload highly sensitive or security-classified information through the form.
If you would like your enquiry or uploaded files removed, contact the studio at bebbingtonengineeringstudio@outlook.com.
Service providers and recipients
Website hosting and application infrastructure providers, the managed database and private file storage used to record enquiries, and the transactional email provider used to deliver enquiry notifications to the studio.
Where the optional paid Professional Export feature is used, payment is processed by a third-party payment provider on its own hosted checkout page. The studio does not receive or store card details; it receives only confirmation that a payment succeeded, together with the payment reference needed to manage the purchase and any refund.
Personal information is not sold, and is not shared with third parties for marketing purposes. Information may be shared with professional advisers or regulators where the studio is required to do so.
Professional Export purchases and uploaded logos
Purchasing Professional Export creates a record containing the purchase reference, the amount, the period of access and the tool the purchase started from. No account is created, and calculation contents are never transmitted to or stored by the studio — all calculations run in your browser.
A company logo uploaded for branded documents is held in private storage, is used solely to produce your own documents, and is deleted shortly after the pass expires. Purchase records are retained only as long as needed for accounting and refund obligations.
International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that occurs, the studio relies on the provider's contractual safeguards for international transfers.
Retention
Information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purposes set out above, and for any period required by law or professional record-keeping obligations. You can request deletion of an enquiry and its attachments at any time.
Individual rights
You have the right to be informed, and to request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact the studio at bebbingtonengineeringstudio@outlook.com.
Complaints and ICO contact
If you are not satisfied with how your information has been handled, please contact the studio first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk.
