Project overview
The North East Quadrant completed the Regent's Place campus between Euston Road and Osnaburgh Street in central London, adding office accommodation, residential apartments, retail and public realm to an established mixed-use estate. The scheme knitted several building forms together above shared basement and podium levels, with a strong architectural expression that placed unusual demands on the visible structure.
Structurally the development combined framed construction with substantial transfer elements, since the residential and commercial grids above did not align with the servicing, parking and circulation requirements below. Steelwork elements had to be fabricated to fine tolerance, coordinated with concrete cores and podium slabs, and erected within a city-centre site bounded by one of London's busiest road corridors.
Carl contributed to the structural steelwork engineering and delivery of the project while employed at William Hare Group, supporting the translation of the design intent into fabrication and erection information.

Engineering challenge
Mixed-use grids stacked above shared podium and basement levels required significant transfer structure, all delivered on a tightly bounded city-centre site with restricted crane access and delivery windows.
